French/Texan artist Alex Bex extends his creative universe into the realms of ambient and experimental soundscapes. With his ability to conceptualize raw emotions within his work, Alex turns daily life into poetic escapism with his EP ‘Fever Dreams’ - a touching journey that flows like deep unsettling breaths.

For his 2nd EP, Alex experiments with the worrying sounds of his neighborhood and deliver ‘Windowsill’, a rough and thrilling approach to ambient and noise. Various textures, sounds, and poignant melodies brood together in the after-hours. ‘Windowsill’ is born after the short poetry collection of the same name, written by Alex in winter 2020. The collection acknowledges themes of cabin fever, delusion, and mysticism.
Through a crack in the curtain, I watch the steaming rooftops dissolve
into the setting sun, and slowly the sky traps us in.
‘This is my room… this is where I wake up every morning, curtains closed.
This is where my thoughts start and end.’
The last ray of light reaches out from behind the curtain and pours into the room,
like something empty and tragic, something always there…
and feeling almost familiar for a moment.
‘Not many men have been here… it means a lot to share my room with you.’
A new version of one of his texts, read out by multidisciplinary artist Lena Hager, is heard on ‘These haunted shapes’. Lena also created the music video for that same track, in which her exquisite abstract footage successfully exacerbates the religious undertone of the album (video to be released in June 2021).

Alex turns daily life into poetic escapism with his EP ‘Fever Dreams’ - a touching journey that flows like deep unsettling breaths. Its lead track ‘Munich’ is an ode to his teenage years. Growing up in the capital of Bavaria, where winter sunsets against the surrounding mountains seem to live on forever. Alex developed a particular sensitivity which translates into his work. Though ambient and cinematic, the track is influenced by deep and progressive House music from the last decade, recognized particularly in the bassline and piano chimes. ‘Munich’ is a powerful and nostalgic track, which gives you exactly what you need to feel.
